Perm residents are invited to visit the ecological trail «In the footsteps of Mindovsky»
The nature trail runs through the territory of the Serebryansky Park in the valley of the Danilikha River, between the Industrial and Sverdlovsky city districts.
The Department of Ecology and Environmental Management of Perm City Administration reported that the ecological trail starts at: Serebryansky proezd 19 and is 3.5 km long. The eco-trail runs through the territory of the former city’s greening nursery founded by the famous Permian gardener Valentin Mindovsky.
The park has a rich variety of greenery, both natural and anthropogenic. Here a new species of mushrooms was discovered - «Kaloplaka dark», and soil scientists discovered relict red-colored clays and dark humus horizon up to 30 cm thick, which is a unique fact for Perm. The trail is characterized by a variety of birds - more than 61 species, including nesting, wintering, and transit birds.
The trail has bridges built across the Danilikha, stands with information about flora and fauna, navigation signs, a forest house, a playground, a green theater - a small wooden playground for leisure activities. Walking along the trail one can enjoy the opportunity to feed the ducks and forest birds.
To note, Serebryansky Park is part of the «Green Ring» project aimed at improvement of small rivers valleys of Perm city. It is planned to equip this area with sports and playgrounds, small architectural forms, sheds with benches and swings, hammocks, to improve walking and cycling paths. It is also planned to reconstruct approaches to the river and the bridges and provide lighting.
